Before Tanguda was initiated, Thomas Rudolph arranged fireworks for more than 12 years. On customers’ demand he optimized the fireworks with elements like artistics or dance. In a gala-event in 1997, he produced a dance and fireworks show with its own scenery the first time.
The show and its effect on the public fascinated him. So he decided to extend this type of spectacle. This was his main concern thenceforward. In 2001 his fireworks profession "changed" and he abandoned the fireworks because he was not longer able to take the physical strain.
By a fluke, shortly after this decision he sat together with his brother Stephan. They realized that they had never carried out a joint project. Stephan played the drums for 25 years and both discovered that hot drum parts and hot fireworks wonderfully complement each other. This was the spiritual start of the Tanguda project.
Thomas and Stephan sat together many nights, developed ideas, outlined them and created a musical and optical draft. The goal was to create a mystical spectacle with a lot of tension and romance.
Also twin Claus was consulted. He brought in his experience from photography. In collaboration with set designers, locksmiths, cabinetmakers and electricians the equipment was constructed such as costumes, scenery and props up to the control-devices for the pyrotechnics and flames. A gigantic, flaming red backdrop was painted, a portal with south american styling elements was constructed.
A three-meter globe was welded, which carries a flammable ring. A golden throne vehicle with elements of an Asian cats throne and much more was created. Everything had to be beautiful, easy to remove and quickly arrangable. In addition all scenery had to be save and fireproof.
At the same time the Rudolph brothers started to search for suitable artists, rehearsals were started, the draft and operations were deepened and melodious elements were created. In the rehearsals the elements were connected harmoniously and nevertheless full of suspense.
The crew today consists of 17 persons from 7 nations. It has grown together very well. The contact within the team is tension free and amicable in spite of the many different cultures. It is a beautiful development and a crazy experience for each individual.
